A hand-painted gouache children's storybook illustration

A hand-painted gouache children's storybook illustration, visible broad brushstrokes, matte pigment on textured paper, simplified expressive shapes and flat painted fur. A small badger gardener wearing an oversized rust-red scarf stands on a crooked wooden ladder in a rooftop garden at night, gently tilting a blue watering can over three terracotta flowerpots. Instead of flowers, golden five-pointed stars grow on slender leafy stems in the pots. One ripe star has floated free and drifts upward toward the starry sky. The badger gazes up at it with quiet wonder. The glowing star plants illuminate the striped face and scarf with soft warm yellow painted light. Tiny sleeping village rooftops far below, deep indigo sky, muted teal leaves, ochre pots, restrained warm gold accents. Clear story and readable silhouettes, intimate magical atmosphere, asymmetrical vertical composition, painted scenery with soft lost edges, charming imperfect drawing, fur suggested with a few brush marks, entirely illustrated, no photographic detail, no realistic rendering, no 3D, no plush toy, no text.
